Europe is a champion of Consumer ClimateTech through renowned innovation, bold legislation, and strong funding support, making it a key region of interest for our firm. Today, we welcome aboard Tue Mantoni as a Regeneration.VC Strategic Advisor. In this role, Tue will steward our EU/Nordic strategy across several key functions, and we are excited to cultivate transatlantic Consumer ClimateTech innovation ecosystems.
Tue Mantoni: "I have been fortunate to work with a number of great consumer companies during my career, and I look forward to combining my experience with a climate and investment focus. I am very impressed by Regeneration.VC's reimagined ClimateTech thesis, where they look at investment opportunities through a consumer lens. I look forward to bringing this perspective to Europe and supporting Regeneration VC in creating huge impact across the European innovation ecosystem."
Tue began his career at McKinsey & Company and spent five years working with major multinationals across Europe. One such client was Triumph Motorcycles Limited whom he advised on a brand rebirth and business transformation after a devastating factory fire nearly ended the company. Upon finalizing this assignment, Tue joined Triumph first as Commercial Director and became CEO at the age of 36. During his 8-year tenure, Triumph saw tremendous growth. This success led to his appointment as a Non-Executive Board Director at Bang & Olufsen –a public high-end Danish consumer electronics business – a role he held for two years while still CEO at Triumph.
After stepping down as Triumph CEO in 2010, he joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Simultaneously, he transitioned from Non-Executive Board Director at Bang & Olufsen to CEO & President, a role he held for more than 5 years.
Since stepping down from Bang & Olufsen, Tue has been a private investor and Chairman or Board Member at some of Denmark’s most successful and fastest-growing consumer brands, including JOE & THE JUICE, LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW, SOUNDBOKS, GUBI, and Stine Goya A/S. Tue also served as Chairman of the Danish Additive Manufacturing Hub.
Tue served for four years, first as a Board Member and subsequently as Board Chairman at Vaekstfonden, Denmark’s sovereign wealth fund focused on early-stage and fund investments, as well as broader startup ecosystem development. He is a best-selling author of "Samfundskontrakten" or "The Social Contract", which depicts the relationship between business and society and evaluates strengths and weaknesses of the Danish entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Michael Smith: "After spending time with Tue in Denmark, I appreciated the unique insights he brings to our shared passion for Consumer ClimateTech. We are confident he is the right person to spearhead our EU strategy thanks to his experience in early-stage investing, thought leadership, and incredible network in the Nordics and beyond. I’m excited for our next chapter to unfold."
